Sleep Support for the whole family

Sleep in the early years can feel confusing, overwhelming, and emotionally charged. Many parents arrive here feeling exhausted, unsure, and torn between what they’re being told and what feels right.

My approach to sleep support is truly gentle, truly evidence-based, and truly honours the attachment relationship. I support families to improve sleep in ways that align with sleep science (I’m an actual sleep scientist!), child development, attachment, and real life — without rigid routines, fear-based messaging, or one-size-fits-all methods. I have a holistic approach and review the context of the whole family, taking into consideration factors such as temperament, sensory needs, sleep needs, circadian rhythm, nutrition, and developmental stage.

You’re in the right place if:

  • Your baby or child wakes frequently overnight

  • Sleep feels unpredictable or difficult to manage

  • You’re experiencing sleep challenges such as early rising, bedtime refusal, night weaning, or transitions in settling/naps/sleep spaces

  • You’re unsure what’s “normal” and what needs support

  • You feel pressure to follow strict sleep rules that don’t sit right

  • You want guidance that respects your values and your child’s needs

  • You’re exhausted and need clarity, reassurance, and practical support

Sleep challenges don’t mean you’re doing anything wrong — and they don’t require extreme measures to improve.

the perfect blend of optimisation and responsiveness

My sleep support is grounded in:

  • infant and child sleep science

  • neuroscience and nervous system regulation

  • attachment and relational safety

  • an understanding of parental wellbeing

I don’t believe sleep should be “trained” at the expense of connection, nor do I believe parents should simply struggle through exhaustion without support.

Instead, I help families:

  • understand what’s happening biologically and developmentally

  • identify what’s supporting or disrupting sleep

  • make thoughtful, sustainable changes

  • improve sleep while maintaining trust and emotional safety

This is about supporting sleep within the context of a whole family, not controlling a child’s behaviour.

What parents gain from this support

After working together, parents often feel:

  • more confident and informed

  • less anxious about sleep

  • better able to respond to their child at night

  • clearer about what changes are helpful and which aren’t necessary

  • more rested — emotionally and physically

Improving sleep is not about perfection. It’s about sustainable support.

You don’t have to navigate sleep alone.

If sleep feels heavy, confusing, or unsustainable, support is available.

common struggles i support families with

  • Reassurance around what’s necessary for sleep and what’s not (goodbye sleep training and drowsy but awake!)

  • Education on how sleep works for both babies, kids and adults

  • Early rising

  • Frequent waking overnight

  • Bedtime struggles and separation anxiety

  • Moving away from co-sleeping or transitioning sleep spaces

  • Nap transitions and parental nap anxiety

  • Night weaning or moving away from feeding to sleep

  • Supporting partners to feel confident with settling and sleep

  • Parental insomnia or anxiety about their own sleep

  • Building bedtime routines and rhythms that support sleep and feel easy

Hi, I’m Sheridan

My work is grounded in a strong foundation of training, research, and lived experience. I hold a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, I’m a sleep scientist and have conducted postgraduate research in sleep (PhD Candidature), and worked in paediatric and adult sleep medicine for 6 years before having kids. I am a Registered Circle of Security Parenting™ Facilitator, an Accredited Holistic Sleep Coach (OCN Level 6), and a Certified Motherhood Studies Practitioner.

This blend of qualifications allows me to support families through:

  • infant, child and parental sleep

  • emotional regulation and behaviour

  • attachment and parent–child relationships

  • the emotional and mental load of parenthood

But just as importantly, I am also a mother of two young children and I’m doing bedtimes and night time parenting every single night right alongside you.

common Questions

  • No, there’s no sleep training at all. We will focus on understanding and supporting sleep, not forcing independence. That being said change, transitions and tiredness often means children are emotional and crying can be a healthy expression of emotions. We won’t be suppressing your child’s feelings but instead co-regulating with them and providing connection.

  • Yes, I typically see children aged 0-6 but I can also support children older than this. We may need to work in collaboration with your GP to rule out any medical concerns or sleep disorders for older children and adults.

  • Yes, I do. No sleep training (like literally none) is used in my approach and all support is tailored entirely to your child’s circumstances. My Holistic sleep qualifications included modules specific to HS and ND kids.

  • Possibly but as sleep is a biological function and children have emotional needs unique to them, I can’t guarantee or predict outcomes. I don’t use sleeping through as a metric for success and instead focus on the sleep quality and wellbeing of the family. It’s important to remember that some night waking is developmentally normal, and sleep is not linear.

  • That’s fine, if you’d like to discuss several parenting concerns as well as sleep I recommend booking the Comprehensive Sleep & Parenting Package.
